Teleconference

Teleconference is a telephone meeting between people from different locations around the world via electronic means. Growth in global outsourcing and remote work has made teleconferencing a method to hold meetings with a distributed team.

With regular telephonic discussions, companies can increase efficiency, build trust with clients, do more meetings, and share knowledge. However, different time zones can cause unnecessary delays in communication, and too much noise in the background could decrease the quality of voice.

A large number of participants can also reduce the efficiency of the teleconference. This can be avoided by using effective teleconferencing practices like sharing files and documents in advance, being punctual, allowing space for glitches, etc.
