About Biz 3

liam martinHello and welcome to the business 3.0 blog. My name is Liam Martin and I’ll be your blog concierge throughout this entire process. Concierge is the best definition of my role since we’ll have an entire team of writers, coworkers, guest bloggers and anyone else we deem interesting working together to deliver our message being, understanding the changing face of online business development and management in a truly globalized world, or what we call biz3.

Why have we put this blog together?

Equal part frustration and desire for education. There is a big problem in business today, namely many businesses big and small don’t know how to leverage the world’s connectedness to improve their bottom line, and instead see this connectedness as a danger. There are a small collection of businesses who ‘get’ it and have done amazing things in short amounts of time with little resources; Running small businesses across 8 countries, scaling companies from 2-200 employees in under a month and figuring out how to get employees who speak multiple languages to work seamlessly together to name a few. We hope to grab these examples, figure out how they did what they did, simplify it and give it to you.

Why should you care?

If you’re not a business person or in any way interested in building your business you shouldn’t care. If your company is already perfectly productive and doesn’t have any problems leveraging global labour and resources to scale your business you also shouldn’t care. If on the other hand your business, like most, is having problems understanding how to adjust to the new reality of a truly global and increasingly egalitarian marketplace then this is your first stop shop for everything you’ll need to understand the biz3 reality.

How are we different?

Three reasons:

1. No trends just permanent shifts. We don’t concentrate on quick trends, you won’t see an article on some new technology that isn’t tested or some viral app that is big one month but forgotten the next. Instead we’re going to concentrate on permanent paradigm shifts in business that you won’t just be able to apply today but 1-2-5 years from now. We’re going to concentrate on evergreen content so you’re assured that you can use this information as a cornerstone in your business.

2. Complete thoughts with implementable systems. Ideally, if your reading an article on biz3 we don’t want you going to 5 other places to get more information. We want a quick, fast implementable article that shows you exactly how to solve that particular problem.

3. The ‘wow’ why aren’t they charging for this feeling. Although this may not be possible with every post we write I’d ideally like each reader to have the wow why aren’t they charging for this feeling, every time you finish an article. I think if we deliver on 1 and 2 then we’ll automatically give you the wow factor but if we don’t please call us on it and tell us what’s missing.
